I don't expect anyone to read this but it is something I wanted to do with wrestlemania coming up tomorrow night.
The date was July 1st, 2007 the event ROH Respect Is Earned it was my very first Ring of Honor Pay Per View that I ever witnessed and while I was absolutely blown away by every single match on the show the main event stood out to me the most. Takeshi Morishima and Bryan Danielson Vs. Nigel McGuinness and KENTA and out of every talented individual on the roster two men stood out to me the most Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness. My 14 year old brain couldn't comprehend that there was this other wrestling company and they were doing things that I never seen before. From then on out while I still watched what WWE was putting out Ring Of Honor was the company that had me hooked most of my attention was focused on this small independent promotion based out of Pennsylvania and i've spent hours among hours going back and watching what they were doing in the past and present and this goes back to Bryan and Nigel standing out to me the most. In my eyes when you mention Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness is a name that follows right behind him. These two individuals changed my outlook on what wrestling was and while these two had some of my favorite matches of all time, matches I don't think will ever be topped.... it is what they are doing right now that stands out to me and makes me so proud to be a fan of these two tremendous individuals. While unfortunately Nigel McGuinness is currently retired he is still doing things that are effecting not only the independents but the mainstream companies as well. While Nigel's health was a part of the reason he retired he is continuously pushing for changes to extend the length of future stars. Now we go to not only my favorite wrestler but by far a huge inspiration in my life and his name is Daniel Bryan. August 23, 2009 ROH announced that Bryan Danielson had signed with WWE and while I was absolutly heartbroken I was also really excited for him and before you knew it Daniel Bryan was introduced on WWE television. Night after night watching NXT and watching Bryan lose was frustrating because I knew what he could do and I really felt like they were purposely holding Bryan down and when he got eliminated from NXT and then eventually released after a stint with Cole, once againI was heartbroken because I didn't feel like he was able to show off any of his skills but on another side I was excited to see him return home. Bryan Danielson was back home on the independent circuit and while American Dragon was back having amazing matches once again, the name Daniel Bryan was constantly being chanted on RAW's and PPV's and while all of us may not think so us the WWE Universe has a voice and it was proven when Daniel Bryan returned as a part of team WWE at Summerslam. So there it was Daniel Bryan was apart of the WWE roster and I was seeing a man I had followed for 4 years on my television and watching him win, the United States title, the Tag Team titles, the money in the bank brief case, multiple slammys and something I thought wouldn't happen win world championships on this big of a scale. Bryan is a three time world champion and he is only four years into his WWE career. Daniel Bryan has taken the world of wrestling by storm and is now the top superstar of a multi-million dollar company you can't go to a wrestling event without hearing one word.... YES!... and for the fan in me which has followed his career now for 7/8 years I cant believe this man who I saw for the first time 7 years ago dressed in all maroon with a shaved head and pale skin sitting there out wrestling nearly every wrestler in the US, traveling the world and proving his skills internationally would be such a big part of Wrestlemania XXX but he is while this isn't Bryans first Mania it is definitely the most importnant.. I feel a hundred percent in my heart that we will see him walk out of Wrestlemania with both belts and millions of people chanting yes but if he doesn't it still wont take away from the fact that American Dragon Bryan Danielson is one of the faces in the company. And through all of this all 15/16 years that Bryan Danielson has been apart of wrestling his drive and determination hasn't changed the Bryan we saw for the first time on NXT had the heart that the Daniel Bryan of today has and that is exactly why everyone and I mean everyone is behind him he is genuine, he is the best wrestler in the world, and he is a fan of wrestling just like me. As I write this I have chills and I have a tear in my eye because I love pro wrestling and Daniel Bryan embodies wrestling. I'm a pro wrestling fan and I am a proud Daniel Bryan fan.
