Can't say I'm a fan of Okada winning the belt from AJ because it makes aj seem like a transitional champion. I was really hoping for AJ Styles vs Nakamura happening at WrestleKingdom after Nakamura defeated Okada in the G1 Finals this year. Oh well though as now I can hope for the finals to be Nakamura vs Styles. I think we might see Elgin vs Ishii or Makabe during this tournament too. I just hope he doesn't fuck it up cause he has been calling it in since 2014. The Final is VERY likely too be Styles/Nakamura now, thats probably why he dropped the strap. They don't like having the champion in the final. |

Watching some older G1 stuff in preparation for this years show..
Watched Nakamura vs Goto from 2009, Tanahashi vs Makabe from 2007, Nakamura vs Nagata from 2007, Tanahashi vs Nagata from 2007, and now watching Tanahashi vs Yano from 2009. I don't really like Yano all that much but Hiroshi was on fire in this match if I remember.
There was a time when I couldn't fucking stand Toru Yano, but I've warmed to him.

Watch Goto vs Nakamura from earlier this year and my god what a match! Also watched Honma vs Ishii and it was good but I'm not sure if it was the greatest match like people made it out to be. I prefered Makabe vs Ishii from WrestleKingdom tbh.
