As I promised, here is a little report of my trip to NJPW Invasion Attack.
Our hotel was 5,5km away from Sumo Hall and we decided to walk. Maybe not the best decision as it began to rain and it was pretty cold too. But still it was alright as Tokyo is a really nice city.
Then after about a hour of walking we saw the arena.
So as we walked to the entrance we saw some NJPW buses which was pretty cool IMO.
After that we waited in line to go into the arena. Then at the lady that was checking the tickets we needed to stop. This ticket(s) we had only counted as one. So we asked if we could buy another ticket. Unfortunately the arena was sold out completely. But the Japanese people there were so nice and helpful and after about 45 minutes later they hooked us up with another tickets, which of course we needed to pay for. Then we got into the arena. What a relief!
They had tons of cool merchandise but unfortunately I did´nt have much money left after buying another ticket. Got the newest Bullet Club T-Shirt and a pack of the NJPW trading cards.
Also they had all the trophies displayed there. Really cool!
Alright now to our seats. We had 1 sumo seater for us alone which was amazing. It looked really uncomfortable how 6 Japaneses were squeezed in the other ones.
Overall this arena was so nice. Such a good feel.
Now to the actual show. I did´nt took a lot of good pictures because for some reason almost every shot I took was blurred.
Show overall was awesome! First 2 matches were really weak, so was the Tanahashi tag match. Bucks vs RPG Vice was nuts. Surprised that the belts changed hands. Also their song rapped by both of them is really cool. Kingdom vs Bullet Club was great as well. Don´t know why people are so against the Kingdom. They performed so well. Maria was so freaking over with the crowd. Got the biggest pops besides Nakamura and Okada. Kenny and Dorada put up an amazing match as well. 6 Man Tag was alright. Expected it to be better. Okada vs Fale was very well worked. But that Okada would win here was obvious. The Japanese fans marked out though. Main Event was freaking awesome. Very well worked toward the big spots. Phoenix Splash into Styles Clash, that´s all I have to say.
After the show we walked by the buses again and holy shit, Alex Shelly was just standing there. After a few minutes of waiting there to see if other would come out as well Trent walked by followed by the Young Bucks. Really cool experience as they were just walking like 2 meters away from me and interacting with us. The Kingdom was walking out after the Bucks. Taven filmed all the fans that were standing at the fence with his phone. After them AJ Styles walked out of the arena, still his wrestling gear on. It was super cold. He could barely walk, and he seemed super pissed. After AJ got into it the bus departed. I guess 1 bus was for the non Japanese wrestlers and the other for the Japanese wrestlers.
On Monday we went to the NJPW shop in Tokyo. After about 4 hours of searching we got there, and it was really worth it. I just stood there like 10 minutes looking at all these signatures. Just epic.
Thanks for looking guys. Have a 27 minute video from Invasion Attack coming soon!
